Who can benefit from NSP services?

NSP mandate is to support NGOs operating in Somalia / Somaliland, in terms of security and safety. All NGOs (International NGOs and Local NGOs) do have a full access to all NSP services. In order to benefit from NSP services, NGOs must fullfil the following criteria:

  • Be a registered NGO
  • Be operating in Somalia / Somaliland or willing to operate soon
  • Be observant of the Humanitarian Principles (Red Cross/Red Crescent and NGO Code of Conduct on Humanitarian Aid)

Access to reports sent through NSP mailing list are also accessible to UN humanitarian agencies and relief donors, on special request. Exceptionnaly, access to reports can also be granted to researchers or for other particular case on special request.

Governments, Local Authorities, Embassies, private companies, journalists, individuals etc... are not entitled to NSP services (cf. Humanitarian Principles). Private companies registering locally or internationally part or all of their activities under NGO status will not be considered.
