Maps of reference

The 3 maps combined give a good overview of the security, access, and geopolitics context evolution of Somalia. These maps are updated every 1 or 2 months

  • Risk map: show unmitigated risks for NGOs, based on a district analysis of 19 threats (Kidnapping, IEDs and grenade, clan conflict, cars accidents etc...)
  • Access map: show the difficulty to conduct operations for NGOs, based on a district analysis of 8 access factors (UN presence, NGO presence, administrative constraints, airports availability, security contraints baed on NSP risk map etc...). This map is produced in partnership with OCHA Somalia.
  • Area of Influence map : on request by Country director personally known to NSP management only. For confidentiality reasons, NSP keeps the right to refuse to distribute this map.
  • Other reference maps: you can find in this section other NSP maps of interest, particularly maps showing critical incidents affecting humanitarian aid workers, and administrative maps of Somalia / Somaliland.
