Town Maps

Detailed maps of key town/villages showing locations/buildings that are important to humanitarian operations or often visited by humanitarian staffs: NGO and UN compounds, administration buildings, health facilities, school, IDP camps, police stations, check-points, airstrips and port facilities, bus stations, markets, banks/money transfer, key mosques, water points, hotels, restaurants, telecom companies, etc....

Data has been collected during various field visits between 2007 and 2012, including recent security assessments, and can be occasionally complemented with UN data and information obtained from Wikimapia. Satellite/aerial imagery from various sources is used as background.

NSP has focused first on locations in South-Central Somalia that have been made theoretically accessible during the last years and for which no maps were already available from other sources. New maps for South-Central, Puntland and Somaliland are regularly added to this page.

All agencies are kindly invited to share with NSP any GIS data they may have so that these maps keep being improved and updated.
